The Monarch School of New England is a day school for students with significant disabilities. We are based in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Our roots go way back.

In 1969, we began as a day care center for children who at that time, were called "retarded." No one knew what to do with these children - even then, this school was a pioneer in its efforts.

Such are our roots: people willing to step outside of the mainstream to make a difference in the lives of children and young adults with disabilities. From the "School for Retarded Children" to the "Child Development Center" to the "Monarch School of New England" - we are here to help children and young adults with disabilities live their best lives. Ever.

As a highly nationally acclaimed day school, we now serve 67 students, ages 5 to 21, with significant medical, physical, developmental, behavioral and emotional disabilities.

We have two campuses:

Our Foss site, which is our elementary / middle school, is located on Eastern Avenue in Rochester, New Hampshire. Here, thirty-five (35) students learn academics in small classroom settings. Therapies support learning and include occupational, physical, speech / language and behavior.

Our Williams site, which is our high school / vocational center, is on Monarch Way in Rochester, about 1/2 mile down the road from our Foss site. Here again, thirty-two (32) students from the ages of 15 to 21, learn academics and functional life skills so they may be prepared to go back out into their communities upon graduation.

Every five years, the New Hampshire Department of Education conducts a private review of our school, the last being in 2019. The Monarch School of New England is given high marks for its creativity, attention to detail and one-on-one programming tailored to the needs of each of our students.
